TexShare Cards
A TexShare Card provides you with borrowing privileges from more than 500 participating libraries across the state. If you're a registered patron of a participating library, you may request a TexShare card from your home library. You must be a patron in good standing and have demonstrated compliance with your library's existing borrowing policies.
Obtaining a TexShare Card: Must have a current Madison County Library Card and a valid photo ID/TX Driver License or Student ID. Present these to staff at the front desk. Fill out a TexShare card application. Return materials on time and in good condition to the lending library. Borrowers must have had a card from Madison County Library for at least 1 year to apply for a TexShare card. They must be in good standing with no fines or fees owed and no lost or damaged materials. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Lost TexShare cards must be reported immediately.
Using a TexShare Card: Visiting TexShare Card holders will present their TexShare Card and a valid ID/TX Driver License or Student ID and will fill out a Madison County Library Card Application.
Loan Policies: Items are loaned for 2 weeks. May renew for an additional 2 weeks. Renewals may be made in person, by phone, by email, or by accessing account online. Only one additonal loan period is granted. Up to 3 items may be checked out. Reference, local history, and genealogy items are not circulated. Unpaid fines, lost, or damaged items will result in blocking of borrowing privileges.
